I think “we” Americans fall into the common American traps.

Status.

Things over experiences.

Work over play is more important.

All the thing that stop us from living happier are these traps yet we don’t view life as a happiness game. We view it as a destination game, in my opinion.

I think even the view of just having a place as happiness is a trap — it’s the people, the community, the friends, the intimate space and relationships that occur in Indonesia that matter just as much.

So without the right people to share it with, are you always back to where you started? Trying to bring people into your Anti-American tribe?
